10-yard roll-off dumpster for purchase — hot-dip galvanized, Wastebins.ca fleet

Best suited for single-room renovations and driveway-scale cleanouts.

A 10 yard bin rental is our most compact roll-off dumpster — it tucks into a single parking space and sits level on a residential driveway without blocking the garage. This 10 yard dumpster rental is the right call when a regular curbside cart is too small but a full contractor bin would be overkill.

At 14 ft long and 4.5 ft high it holds roughly three pickup-truck loads, around 4,000–6,000 lb of debris, with 1.5 tonnes of disposal already built into the flat rate. Typical loads are bathroom and small kitchen tear-outs, garage and basement clean-outs, and light landscaping waste such as soil, sod, and brush.

We deliver across 60 Canadian cities — same-day when you order before 11 AM local — and place the bin on pinewood runners so your driveway stays unmarked. Keep it as long as your project runs and book the pickup when you’re ready; pricing is one transparent CAD rate with no mystery weight fees.

What actually fits in a 10-yard dumpster

A 10-yard roll-off holds about three full-size pickup-truck loads. In practical terms that is a gutted bathroom down to the studs, a single-car garage cleared of years of storage, or the carpet, underlay, and trim pulled from two or three average rooms. Most homeowners doing one focused project at a time never outgrow it.

It is also the right bin for a small deck tear-down, a shed demolition, or a weekend yard overhaul where you are bagging sod, soil, and brush. If your job is bigger than a few trips to the curb but you do not have a contractor crew filling it daily, the 10-yard keeps you from paying for air in a larger box.

Weight limits: heavy debris fills by the tonne, not the yard

The 10-yard includes 1.5 tonnes (about 3,000 lb) of disposal in the flat rate. Light renovation debris — drywall, wood, carpet, furniture — will fill the volume long before it reaches that ceiling. Dense material is the opposite: clean concrete, brick, asphalt, tile, and wet soil hit the weight cap when the bin is barely a third full.

If your load is mostly heavy material, do not size up — a bigger bin only adds volume you cannot legally fill on the road. Keep heavy debris in the 10-yard, tell dispatch what it is at booking, and we quote the tonnage cleanly with no surprise overage at pickup.

Is the 10-yard the right size, or should you size up?

Choose the 10-yard when the work is contained to one room or one driveway-scale task. Step up to the 14-yard if you are doing a full kitchen, a roof tear-off, or two rooms at once — the extra capacity and rear walk-in door are worth it once you are loading heavy or bulky pieces over the side becomes a chore.

Permits, driveway placement, and same-day delivery

Placed on your own driveway or private property, a 10-yard needs no permit anywhere in Canada. It only requires a municipal permit when it sits on the city street or boulevard, which varies by city — we flag it at booking and can file it for you with notice. The bin rides on pinewood runners so your driveway stays unmarked, and same-day delivery is available across 60 cities when you order before 11 AM local.

What can’t go in the bin

A few materials are banned from every roll-off in Canada — including this 10-yard — no matter how much room is left in the bin. Tell dispatch up front and we route restricted items to the right facility instead of charging a contamination fee at the scale.
